Wanda and Adam pregnancy shoot

I'm stoked I'm finally able to upload some photos from the pregnancy shoot I did for Adam and Wanda, when I was last home in New Zealand before Christmas. These guys are such a lovely couple, so nice to chat with and we got some really cute shots, even though the rain didn't once let up. Heres one of favs from the shoot and you can see the others in the events gallery...

Tarati and Steve's Wedding

See more photos from Tarati and Steve's wedding here...

I finally have had a chance to sit down after the crazy Christmas and New Year period, to get some photos edited. I was really stoked to have come back from my wee holiday to Tarati and Steve's wedding!! This was from my last trip of the year back to New Zealand, the weekend before Christmas.

There are SO many awesome photos I'd love to show from this wedding and I caught myself out smiling so many times while editing the photos down to my favourites. Call me a sucker for weddings but they are such a special time, I really do love them!! And this wedding was no exception.

Tarati and Steve have been "high-school sweethearts" and decided to take the next step, in front of family and friends, at Gails of Tamahere. The venue itself is set amongst a beautifully kept garden on the outskirt of Hamilton.

The day was probably the most relaxed wedding day I've ever experienced (apart from the near torrential rain), the day went really well and I was stoked to be amongst it all.

Here are a few of my favourites from the day, with more to come very soon...

New Zealand Spring trip

While back home for Jo & Murray's Wedding (which was also an excuse to be home to meet my beautiful niece for the first time) I had the chance to do a couple of photo shoots. The first family we decided to travel to Cambridge to take some outdoor photos and to take advantage of the beautiful weather. The last official family photos taken were before the youngest was born, so I was very excited to be the one to photograph them all together so many years on.

The second family I had photographed a couple of years back when their first born, Carlos, had just turned one. Now their second child, Nico, has celebrated his first birthday not so long ago.  It was great to be able to capture them both at similar ages. If you want to see the old shoot I did of Carlos with his family, check it out here. It was amazing to see the different personalities which you can very much see in the photos, Carlos being very energetic and playful compared to Nico who is quiet and more shy, so funny!

Here's my favourites from both shoots...

Jo & Murray's Beach Wedding

I finally have some time to do a first update of the many photos I took last weekend while back home in New Zealand.

I used to help Jo with her beautiful children many years ago when they were much younger. I'm just so pleased it's worked out that I was able to be a part of their big day when the family became an even BIGGER family, combining with Murray and his kids, a modern day Brady bunch ;)

Jo and Murray's wedding took place in the always beautiful Mount Maunganui. The wedding ceremony and reception was held at their beach house and the set up was A-mazing with perfect weather!

Take a look at a few of my favourite shots from the day...(more to come very soon!)...

New Zealand Shapeshifter

See more Shapeshifter photos here...

Over the weekend I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to photograph one of my ultimate favourite music groups, Shapeshifter, on the Melbourne stop of their Australian tour. Having moved back to New Zealand from living overseas in Berlin for much of the year, the Drum & Bass heavy weights have returned home to do their Summer tour (which makes me miss the NZ summer even more!). The experience was one I'd never forget and has to be a huge highlight of my time here in Melbourne, I was absolutely stoked!!

Heres some of my favourites from the night...

Kolohe Kai

Last week I got the opportunity to be the Photographer for the Kolohe Kai concert at the Palace Theatre, here in Melbourne. Kolohe Kai are a Reggae group who came all the way from Hawaii to do their New Zealand & Australia tour. I should a special mention to those who brought them to Melbourne - Ara Entertainment in association with FRESH Club & Events. It was an awesome night and they performed really well, playing up to the crowd. The room was packed with the most people I've seen in the Palace Theatre which was awesome and added to the atmosphere.

Here a few from the night with more to come really soon...

Sons of Zion & Nesian Mystik

After the photoshoot with Sons of Zion during the day, and following them to watch sound check, I went home to amp myself up for the concert (or was that to calm myself down?). I then headed back to the Palace Theater to photograph the show. The gig was kicked off by MC LOUDmouth LEN who did an wicked job getting the crowd amped up. Following that, was Jae'o and Pieter T, both amazing singers! Sons of Zion did an AWESOME show along with Nesian Mystik, who really got the crowd going. I think I should also give a special mention to the awesome work of Nesian Roots (Jarrod & Kelly Alexander Toki) and Mahino Productions (Alan Latu) for bringing all the Sons of Zion boys over from New Zealand and FRESH Club & Events for bringing over the Nesian Mystic boys. It was an awesome night!!

I tried to record some on the gig on my phone, in my down time, but the excitement was too much (haha geek!), so heres a couple of shots from when I was up by the stage shooting, and also a couple of youtube clips of my favourite songs. More photos will be up of the gig very soon so keep an eye out...

Sons of Zion in Melbourne

Friday was an absolute AWESOME day for me! I was able to combine my two biggest loves of Music and Photography, by heading out into the lane ways in Melbourne city to Photograph one of my favourite New Zealand bands, Sons of Zion. They were over in Melbourne as part of their Australian tour, sharing the stage with one of New Zealand's top RnB/Hip-Hop groups, Nesian Mystik.

We ventured down one of my favourite alleyways in China town to show the boys some typical Melbourne graffiti. Heres my favourite pick, with more to come very soon....

Darts World Record Attempt

Wow, its been a long while since I updated my blog!! I've been on a long hiatus finishing off projects and looking into some new ones.

Heres something I was asked to photograph yesterday which was pertty awesome to watch. These four guys, Oliver Matthews, Andrew Herriman, Michael Yeh, and Matthias Schulz, played a 50 hour game of darts over the weekend, getting themselves into the Guinness Book of World Records. As part of striving to complete the challenge, the guys also used the event to raise funds for MS Australia. They celebrated with a few beers and by jumping into the Albert Park lake, gross (and FREEEEEZING!!!).

Sheree and Mat's beach wedding

See more of Sheree and Mat's Wedding here

Last weekend I travelled over to the always amazing, Bay of Plenty, to photograph the last Wedding for my New Zealand trip. Sheree and Mat had their ceremony in Mount Maunganui, on my favourite part of beach, right at the base of the Mount itself. The weather was absolutely mint and the water couldn't have been any bluer! The pre-wedding prep and reception were both held at The Sebel Trinity Wharf Tauranga. The hotel has some pretty amazing views of parklands on one side and the beautiful Tauranga Harbour on the other.

Heres a couple of pics from the day...
